PPO PLANS offer a wide variety of deductibles from $250 deductible to $5,000 or more. They usually offer a doctor’s office co-pay, and a Prescription Drug Card. To remain in network you will need to see their doctors but if you go out of network you are still covered with a higher co-pay. Some companies have the PPO network nationwide.
H S A (Health Savings Accounts) are high deductible plans that allow you to open a Health Savings Account with your funds. You can use this account to pay medical bills until you reach your deductible. These plans usually do not offer doctor’s office co-pays or prescription drug plans. You use your H S A account to pay these expenses and any money left over at the end of the year can be carried over or saved and can be used like an IRA down the line.
HMO plans are plans that are widely used but you need to make sure your doctor is on this plan. You have to go to the HMO doctors they choose and if you go out of network, you may not have coverage. You usually have co-pays instead of deductibles.
Short term medical covers you for a short time with a deductible you choose. This is usually used when you are in between jobs or waiting for your new employer’s plan to come into affect. Please contact me via e-mail to quote this plan.
